We'd like to give you an overview of what to expect for your dress fitting. These FAQs will help answer some of your questions right now, but if you think of any others feel free to ask!
What should I bring?
Bring your Dress!
Bring the Shoes that you are going to wear with the dress, or shoes of the same height as the ones that you will be wearing.
Also bring the Bra or any other Foundations (i.e. Spanks, slip, etc.) you plan to wear with the dress. Many women don't want to wear a bra or would rather have cups sewn in —if that is you, no need to bring a bra! (More information about cups below.)
How long will the fitting take?
The fitting will likely take around an hour.
How much will it cost?
There are several factors that will go into determining the cost of your alteration including the style of dress, the type of fabric, and the work needed, as well as the cost of supplies. That's why we will give you an initial estimate, and then a final cost after we factor in the additional information. Sometimes these items are not evident until after we begin working on your dress and really see what needs to be done.
Please note: There is a non-refundable $25 deposit required to reserve your fitting. This deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your alterations the day you pick up the dress.
When should I pay?
50% of the estimate is due the the day of your first fitting or before the alterations are begun. The remaining balance (approx. 50%) is due when the alterations are complete and you pick up your dress.
How Should I pay?
You can pay by cash, check, or credit card including Visa, Discover, MasterCard and American Express. (There is a 3% processing charge for credit card.)
Can I get cups sewn into the dress?
Yes! We keep an inventory of different styles of bra cups in order to easily find the style that is most comfortable for you.
Do you offer steaming services?
Yes! Ask about steaming your dress, so it will be ready for the wedding.
Where is your alteration studio?
It is located in the St. Matthew’s area near Frankfort Ave.
Do you make or alter veils?
Yes! We make custom veils and keep a stock of laces and decorative combs so we can find the perfect trim to match your dress. Need your current veil altered or bustled? We also alter veils to make them match your vision for the dress.
